Romel Essex was born and raised in Memphis, TN and moved to Atlantic City,NJ when he was 7 years old. When he was in Atlantic City he and his family were homeless for a period of time until his mom finally saved enough money to afford an apartment and that apartment is where he grew up. He went to Atlantic City public Schools until he graduated from Atlantic City HighSchool.

Romel Essex attended Atlantic Cape Community College where he studied Communications, Television, and Film. During these courses he always got up in front of the class to do project presentations in front of the whole class. Doing this he developed the ability to deliver good presentations.

Romel Essex entered into the real estate world to strive to be the best version of himself and get his family out of a poverty background. He wants to finally be his own boss and show people in his neighborhood that they don't have to fall into the trap of working a dead end job or doing illegal things to put food on the table. Also he always wanted help people own a home because he knows the pain of not having a home.
